Melissa Peretz was born on Jersey in the Channel Islands. She started dancing at the tender age of two and half, and first performed on stage at the age of four. Melissa studied dance teaching and performance at the London College of Dance and upon graduation embarked upon a professional dance career, which took her all over the world, including Tokyo, Scandinavia, London, The Far East, The Caribbean and Alaska. During her travels Melissa also studied and taught fitness classes. A back injury during a performance led Melissa to discover Pilates, which then became a new obsession along with holistic strength and flexibility training.

After her move to New York City, Melissa studied at Power Pilates under Bob Liekens, where she undertook the full certification. This not only led to her own rehabilitation, but also a deeper insight into health and fitness and the control of the body from the center. In 2009, Melissa immersed herself in the American Yoga Academy 300 hour certification. Her clients are already benefiting from adding a yoga practice to their existing fitness plan.

In 2000 Melissa worked as a trainer and then GM of Casa at the Regency, on Park Avenue in New York City for almost 6 years before starting her own business (Bodhi Fitness). Melissa has over 15 years of experience in the body care and wellness field, she has created innumerable personal programs for clients of varying levels of health and fitness, including the "5 minute arm routine" reported in Vogue Magazine. Melissa continues to seek out new techniques and modalities to enhance the experience for her clientele and create the most efficient and effective full body programs possible.

Melissa is an amateur triathlete, cyclist road racer/time-trialist, and mother of three-year old daughter Mia.
